Bill Pay Disclosure:
Potlatch No1 Federal Credit Union’s Home Branch
Bill Pay feature is subject to the rules outlined in the Electronic Funds
Transfer disclosure statement, with the following conditions:
1.
You must keep Potlatch aware of any changes in your current
home or business phone numbers. If we
receive returned mail, we may cancel your access to pay bills until the time
you provide us with correct and current information.
2.
Payments will be made from your regular checking account (S9)
unless otherwise indicated. Potlatch
No1 Federal Credit Union will not honor requests to pay bills from a savings
account (S1-3, S5-8, S15-16) if the payment would exceed the limit of six (6)
electronic withdrawals per month, of which only (3) can be in the form of a
check, in accordance with Federal Regulation
D.
3.
If there are not sufficient funds in the account from which
you designate the payment, Potlatch No1 Federal Credit Union will automatically
attempt to make the payment using your previously designated overdraft path.
4.
In the event that we are still unable to make a payment by
accessing your overdraft path, we will notify you through the Home Branch message
service on the day we attempted to make the payment. The credit union will attempt for a total of
five (5) business days to make the payment for you, and each of these attempts
to make the payment will also automatically issue a message to you if there
are insufficient available funds.
5.
You must allow sufficient time for the payee to receive and
process the payment before the due date shown on your invoice. If you do not allow sufficient time, you will
assume full responsibility for all late fees, finance charges, or other actions
taken by the payee. For each payee already
listed in our database, Home Branch will advise you what time period should
be sufficient under normal circumstances for the payee to receive a payment
(typically 2 to 7 business days). New
payees that you add to the Home Branch database may require up to ten (10) business
days to verify information with the payee and process the first payment.
If you schedule a payment with sufficient time and there were sufficient
funds in your account, but the payment was not received by the payee or was
received late, Potlatch No1 Federal Credit Union will assume responsibility
for correcting the problem and paying any applicable late fees upon proof of
the fee being assessed to you. However,
Potlatch No1 Federal Credit Union assumes no liability based upon miscommunication
between parties.
6.
If we do not send a payment on time or in the correct amount
according to your instructions given in accordance with this disclosure, we
will be liable for any late fees and other monetary penalties incurred. However, there are some exceptions. We will not be liable, for instance, if:
a.
Your account does not contain sufficient available funds to
make the payment or transfer.
b.
The payment or transfer would force your overdraft line of
credit over the approved limit.
c.
The equipment, phone lines, or computer systems were not working
properly or were temporarily unavailable.
d.
A merchant fails to account correctly for or credit the payment
in a timely manner.
e.
There are delays in mail delivery or the estimate of time to
allow for delivery to the payee is inaccurate.
f.
There is a change of merchant address or account number.
g.
Circumstances beyond our scope of control, such as fire or
flood, prevented the payment or transfer, despite reasonable precautions that
we have taken.
h.
A court order or legal process prevents us from making a transfer
or payment.
i.
We have reasonable basis for believing that unauthorized use
of your password or designated account have occurred or may be occurring or
if you default under any agreement with us or if you or we terminate this Agreement.
j.
The payee does not process a payment correctly, or in a timely
manner.
There will be a charge for each payment which accesses a share
account within your overdraft path due to insufficient funds in the designated
account. This fee is designed to cover
the credit union’s expense for notifying you of the non-payment.
